Marina Mogilko

Marina Mogilko is an entrepreneur and content creator originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, now based in Los Altos, California, according to her LinkedIn profile. She holds a master's degree in econometrics and quantitative economics from Saint Petersburg State University (2007–2012), per the same profile. The Tribune described her as 31 years old in an article dated January 31, 2022; no exact date of birth has been found in a public source.

In 2015 she co-founded LinguaTrip with Dmitry Pistolyako, a marketplace for language immersion programs abroad that later added online English courses. LinguaTrip took part in 500 Startups Batch 13 in 2015, which LinkedIn lists and The Tribune reports came with a $100,000 investment. Her LinkedIn profile also lists Fluent.Express (co-founder, 2017), an earlier company, MP Education LLC (2011–2016), the Silicon Valley Girl brand (founded 2018), and angel investments in Beacons AI, Navier, Boom Supersonic and Higgsfield AI. Her LinkedIn headline says she "built two 8-figure businesses"; there is no independent source for that figure.

She publishes on three YouTube channels. As read on September 14, 2026: Linguamarina, focused on learning English, had 8.9 million subscribers; Marina Mogilko, in Russian, had 2.09 million; and Silicon Valley Girl, now a weekly podcast on AI and technology where she interviews founders and executives, had 1.58 million. Her official site, marinamogilko.co, also links the Instagram accounts @siliconvalleygirl and @siliconvalleygirlpodcast, the TikTok account @linguamarina, and a free newsletter, Future Proof, on beehiiv.

What she sells is language education through LinguaTrip. The Linguamarina channel links to "From Elementary to Intermediate," an online English program whose sales page names Venya Pak and Marina Mogilko as course creators. As read on September 14, 2026, it consists of 30 recorded lessons over seven weeks, with three plans: BASIC at $99 (3-month access to lessons, practice tasks and Venya Pak's live Q&A sessions), STANDARD at $149 (adds a cohort starting November 13, homework checks and a private group chat run by Venya Pak, and a weekly speaking club), and PRO at $219 (adds five private Zoom lessons with Venya Pak). The page advertises a 14-day refund guarantee. Homework checks and live sessions are handled by Venya Pak; the page does not describe a live teaching role for Mogilko. The same channel links to the "English as a Lifestyle" PDF workbook, co-written with teacher Angela Pirozzi, priced from $7.99 on LinguaTrip's site as of September 14, 2026. She previously sold YouTube-growth courses through a Thinkific school under her name; that page now tells existing students their lifetime access moved to edu.marinamogilko.co, which did not load on September 14, 2026 (connection error), and neither marinamogilko.co nor her YouTube channels link to a YouTube course, so no current sale of those courses could be confirmed.

The most covered episode of her career in the press is her November 2021 deal with Slow Ventures: according to TechCrunch (Amanda Silberling, October 12, 2023), the firm gave her $1.7 million in exchange for 5% of her creator earnings for 30 years, including 5% of any intellectual property she develops in that period. The article describes the confused and concerned reaction to that model of investing in individuals and quotes her explaining that terms would apply even to a book written years from now. No FTC action under her name was found in a search of ftc.gov on September 14, 2026.
