Peter L. Brandt is a U.S. futures trader known for classical chart analysis. According to his own website, he entered the commodity business in 1976 with ContiCommodity Services, where he handled accounts for institutional clients, and in 1980 founded Factor Trading Co., Inc., now Factor LLC, through which he trades proprietary capital. His website also states that he managed trading for Commodities Corporation of Princeton, New Jersey. In a Chat with Traders interview published on August 5, 2026, he described himself as a trader with more than 50 years in the markets. His exact birth year does not appear in the sources reviewed.
He is the author of two books: Trading Commodity Futures with Classical Chart Patterns (1990), which his website describes as out of print, and Diary of a Professional Commodity Trader: Lessons from 21 Weeks of Real Trading (John Wiley & Sons, 2011). Jack Schwager interviewed him for the first chapter of Unknown Market Wizards (2020). His website says the 2011 book was Amazon's top-ranked trading title for 27 weeks; no independent source for that figure was found.
His main public channel is X (@PeterLBrandt), where Chat with Traders put his following at more than one million in August 2026. His YouTube channel (@factorco), linked from his website, showed 7.48K subscribers and 10 videos when read on September 14, 2026. He is also listed as an analyst on Bitcoin Live, a third-party crypto subscription platform.
What he sells today is Factor Research, an annual membership sold on peterlbrandt.com. The checkout page lists it at $347.00 every 12 months, renewing automatically, billed by Factor LLC under the name "Factor Trading". According to the site, it includes Factor Reports with chart commentary on futures, forex and crypto, a Knowledge Center of educational articles, member webinars and discussions, a private X feed, and a PDF of his 1990 book. The FAQ states that the service does not give specific buy or sell recommendations or individually tailored advice, that the fee is non-refundable, and that members can cancel at any time and keep access until the paid period ends.
