Productivity YouTuber (3.01M subscribers) and founder of College Info Geek who sells the Notion systems Ultimate Brain and Creator's Companion. Not the political writer of the same name.
Thomas Frank is an American YouTuber and entrepreneur who publishes videos on productivity, study skills and the note-taking app Notion. According to his own website, he started the blog College Info Geek in 2010 while a student at Iowa State University and turned it into his full-time work before graduating. In a self-reported Starter Story interview dated December 17, 2023, he gave Denver, Colorado as his base and described a team of three employees. He should not be confused with Thomas Frank, the political commentator and author of books on American politics; that is a different person and none of his information is used here. His date of birth has not been found in any public source.
His website lists him as a co-founder of Nebula, the creator-owned streaming service. He self-published the study guide 10 Steps to Earning Awesome Grades in 2015; his site says more than 20,000 copies of that edition were sold and that Brilliance Audio released an audiobook in 2018. He also hosted a podcast that began as The College Info Geek Podcast, later renamed The Inforium.
He publishes on two YouTube channels: Thomas Frank, with 3.01 million subscribers and 281 videos, and Thomas Frank Explains, a Notion tutorial channel with 300,000 subscribers and 86 videos (both read on September 16, 2026). He is also on X and Instagram as @tomfrankly.
What he sells today is mainly Notion templates rather than video courses. His shop at shop.thomasjfrank.com, checked on September 16, 2026, lists Ultimate Brain for Notion at $129, an all-in-one system for tasks, notes, projects and goals; Creator's Companion Base at $149 and Creator's Companion: Ultimate Tasks Edition at $199, a planning system for YouTube channels, podcasts and blogs; a bundle of Ultimate Brain and Creator's Companion at $278; and a membership called The Automators' Club at $5 per month, whose contents are not described on the shop page. His sales pages advertised a $50 discount code on the same date, bringing Ultimate Brain to $79. Purchases include tutorials and access to a private support community on Circle. The sales pages state a 30-day refund guarantee for purchases through Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad and a 14-day window for purchases through the Notion Marketplace, where the templates are also sold. His class Business 101 for Creators, on business structure, finances, taxes and hiring for creators, is not sold on its own: it is available inside a Nebula subscription. His Notion Fundamentals course is free, and older Skillshare classes are linked from his courses page.
On revenue, the figures come from him. He said on Nathan Barry's podcast in January 2023 that his templates were bringing in about $100,000 a month, and in the Starter Story interview he reported $2.1 million in template sales over two years. The Information published a story on his template business on February 15, 2023, titled around his first $1 million in sales; the article is behind a paywall and was not read in full. His website also lists coverage in The Wall Street Journal, Business Insider and U.S. News, which was not located separately. No FTC action under his name was found in a search of ftc.gov and the web on September 16, 2026, and no independent review of his templates' results has been found. The legal name of the company that sells the templates has not been confirmed in a state business registry.
