Who is Andy Galpin?

Andy Galpin (Andrew Galpin) is an American exercise physiologist and human performance researcher. According to his official website, he grew up in Rochester, Washington, and holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from Linfield College (2005), an M.S. in Human Movement Sciences from the University of Memphis (2008) and a Ph.D. in Human Bioenergetics from Ball State University (2011). He also lists the NSCA's CSCS*D and NSCA-CPT*D certifications and a fellowship of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. His year of birth does not appear on his website or in the sources reviewed.

From 2011 to 2024 he taught at California State University, Fullerton, where he founded a molecular exercise physiology laboratory and co-directed the Center for Sport Performance. In August 2024 Parker University in Dallas, Texas, announced his appointment as executive director of its Human Performance Center, with a tenured full professorship.

His website lists him as co-founder of BioMolecular Athlete (legal name shown on its site: Biomolecular, LLC), of the blood-testing company Vitality Blueprint and of Absolute Rest, a sleep assessment company that sells a 90-day at-home testing and coaching program; Absolute Rest does not publish its prices on its homepage. In June 2026 the meditation app Waking Up announced a 14-day sleep and recovery program with daily video lessons from Galpin, developed with Absolute Rest.

He publishes on the YouTube channel @drandygalpin, which showed 198,000 subscribers when read on September 14, 2026, with the 5, 25 and 55 Minute Physiology video series. He hosts the podcast Perform with Dr. Andy Galpin, announced in January 2024 as a partnership with Huberman Lab, and earlier appeared in a six-part guest series on the Huberman Lab podcast between January and February 2023. He is also on Instagram, X, Facebook and LinkedIn as drandygalpin; those follower counts were not recorded.

What he sells: BioMo Pro is a monthly subscription from BioMolecular Athlete, taught with Dr. Tommy Wood and Dr. Ben House, that gives access to members-only articles, unreleased podcast episodes, Q&A sessions, physiology videos, topic guides and research breakdowns. Its page uses pay-what-you-want pricing with a $5 monthly minimum and suggested tiers of $5, $10, $25 and $50, cancelable at any time. ARETE is a personalized coaching program run by a team he leads, combining biomarker testing, individual program design and ongoing daily coaching; no price is published and enrollment goes through a booked call. He co-authored the book Unplugged (2017) with Brian MacKenzie and Phil White, and accepts paid speaking engagements, with fees negotiated through an inquiry form on his website. Free material includes a weekly newsletter, topic guides and a five-day sleep guide.

Reputation: no FTC action was found under his name in a search of ftc.gov on September 14, 2026. The claims about his work with athletes in the UFC, NBA, NFL, MLB, PGA, Olympics and special operations come from his own website and speaker materials, with no independent source located. Earlier BioMolecular Athlete products, such as the BioMolecular Toolkit course promoted in November 2023, no longer have an active sales page, so their price and current availability could not be confirmed.
