Dan Martell is a Canadian entrepreneur, angel investor and business coach. The Globe and Mail described him in December 2011 as a Moncton, New Brunswick, entrepreneur who became a millionaire at 28 after selling his computer consulting start-up in 2008. His own website recounts that as a teenager he was sentenced to jail after a police chase in a stolen car and was then moved to Portage, a youth rehabilitation facility, where he learned to program. His exact date of birth has not been located in a public source.
He founded or co-founded three technology companies that were sold: Spheric Technologies (2008), Flowtown, a social marketing start-up co-founded with Ethan Bloch and acquired by Demandforce in October 2011 (TechCrunch, Inc.), and Clarity.fm, a service for booking paid calls with advisors, acquired by Fundable in February 2015 on undisclosed terms (TechCrunch, BetaKit). His publisher's author bio says he was named Canada's top angel investor in 2012 and has invested in more than 50 start-ups, including Intercom, Udemy and Unbounce; no independent source for that list was checked.
He then founded SaaS Academy, a coaching company for software founders. The founding year differs between sources: his website says 2015, his publisher says 2016 and Precision says 2017. In 2026 SaaS Academy became part of Precision Technology Solutions Inc., which says it now builds SaaS Academy's playbooks into an AI agent platform. According to Precision, SaaS Academy coached more than 3,000 founders and recorded 52 exits; these are the company's own figures and have not been independently verified. He also runs Martell Ventures, which describes itself as an AI-focused venture studio that takes equity in companies it co-builds and asks applicants for at least $100K in monthly recurring revenue.
He publishes on YouTube (about 3.06 million subscribers on @danmartell) and TikTok (about 1.9 million followers on @danvmartell), both read on September 13, 2026, as well as Instagram, X, LinkedIn and a podcast. He also sends a free weekly newsletter, The Martell Method.
His current paid offer is coaching for entrepreneurs under the Elite and Quantum names. The Elite Inner Circle page describes an invite-only program with weekly coaching and playbooks, access to his AI tools and sessions with members of his leadership team. Neither page publishes a price; the way in is a private strategy call of about an hour. On his reputation: coverage of his company sales appears in TechCrunch, Inc. and BetaKit, and The Globe and Mail wrote about him in 2011. A web search on September 13, 2026, turned up no FTC press release or court case under his name or SaaS Academy's; the FTC's site search could not be run directly. The revenue results in client testimonials on his coaching page come from his own marketing and have no independent source. What we could not confirm: the price of his coaching, his current city of residence and the exact founding year of SaaS Academy.
