Steven Dux is a day trader who specializes in short selling small and mid-cap stocks and sells trading education under the Dux Trading name. The terms of service on his website identify the operator as Dux Trading LLC and name Xiuxian Du. According to his own About page, he emigrated from China to the United States at 14, has an engineering background and started trading with a $27,000 account while he was a college student in Ohio.
He became known as a student of Timothy Sykes. A post on Sykes' blog, written by Sykes and updated on August 9, 2023, presents him as a member of the Millionaire Trading Challenge with $1.7 million in trading profits, and says he also learned from Tim Grittani and Mark Croock. His own site now claims more than $12 million in trades verified by a third party and links to a public portfolio on Kinfo. These figures come from Dux and his former mentor's promotional material; Mentor Explorer has not found an independent audit report or press coverage confirming them.
The company is Dux Trading LLC. Its terms of service say it is organized and located in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, that its terms are governed by Puerto Rico law, and that it is also an Ohio-registered LLC. OpenCorporates lists a DUX TRADING, LLC in Ohio; the registry record could not be opened to confirm its details.
His YouTube channel (@stevendux), joined in August 2017 and listed with the United States as its country, had 295,000 subscribers and about 16.5 million views on September 14, 2026. His website also links to Instagram (stevendux_1994), Facebook and X (@Steven1_994). He has appeared as a guest on trading podcasts such as Humbled Traders and B The Trader.
His paid offer, listed on the shop page of stevenduxi.com on September 14, 2026, has two parts. The Freedom Challenge is a subscription that includes Discord access, trade alerts, daily watchlists, strategy reports, a penny stock database, two weekly webinars and more than 300 hours of recordings; it costs $799 per month, $4,000 per six months (Trading Techniques course included) or $7,000 per year (all three courses included). Subscriptions renew automatically, and the terms state that refunds are at the company's sole discretion. The three standalone courses, Trading Techniques, Duxinator and Traders Edge, cost $1,200 each with lifetime access, or $3,600 as a bundle. The site also has an "Apply To Be My Student" form and a free 30-day introductory course called Dux Academy.
On reputation, his website's disclaimer states that the results shown are not typical, that most day traders are not profitable and that the company does not track the typical results of its customers. No FINRA BrokerCheck record was found under Steven Dux or Xiuxian Du, searched on September 14, 2026; he does not present himself as a registered adviser. No FTC action was found under his name on ftc.gov, searched on September 14, 2026.
