Thomas DeLauer is an American nutrition and fitness content creator, author and coach, best known for YouTube videos on intermittent fasting, ketogenic eating, fat loss and supplements. His website describes him as a former corporate professional who weighed 280 pounds before changing his diet and training; in podcast interviews, including The Model Health Show (episode 737), he has told the story of that weight loss and of reversing a type 2 diabetes diagnosis. These are his own accounts and no independent medical record is public. His year of birth, hometown and academic background are not stated on his website or on the publisher's author page.
He publishes mainly on the YouTube channel @ThomasDeLauerOfficial, which showed 4.04 million subscribers and about 3,900 videos when read on September 14, 2026. His website also links to Instagram (@thomasdelauer), Facebook and X; the site itself states 2.1 million Instagram followers, a figure not checked independently. He has been a guest on widely followed health podcasts such as Mark Bell's Power Project, Wellness Mama, The Model Health Show and The Optispan Podcast with Matt Kaeberlein.
His paid one-to-one offer is a set of custom plans sold from thomasdelauer.com. The Nutrition + Supplement plan is listed at $2,549 and includes a customized nutrition protocol with meal options, meal timing built around the client's schedule and workouts, targeted supplement recommendations with Amazon links, and two email follow-ups. The Nutrition + Supplement + Workout plan is listed at $2,849 and adds a custom workout plan and a cardio strategy. Clients apply through a form; the page says spots are limited each month. His earlier Life + Fitness Coaching program is marked on his site as no longer offered. The website also gives away free meal plans and guides in exchange for an email address.
He is the author of Intermittent Fasting Made Easy (Fair Winds Press, an imprint of Quarto, April 2022, 256 pages) and co-author, with Martina Slajerova, Nicholas Norwitz and Rohan Kashid, of The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook (Fair Winds Press, April 2021). A large part of his income as shown on his own site comes from brand partnerships: it lists affiliate or sponsor links to supplement and food companies including LMNT, Seed, Thrive Market, ButcherBox, Armra, Timeline Nutrition and Fatty15. Supplements and food products are not training and are not listed as programs here.
On reputation, what can be checked is limited. Quarto's author page says his work has appeared in Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Performance and Bodybuilding.com. No FTC case or proceeding appears under the name DeLauer in the FTC Legal Library, searched on September 14, 2026. We did not locate independent investigative press coverage about his coaching business, nor independent data on client results; the testimonials on his website are published by him. His website says he sold part of a previous company to a private equity group, but it does not name the company and we could not confirm it in public records.
