Who is Anik Singal?

Anik Singal is an American entrepreneur who sells online business training. A University of Maryland, College Park graduate, he started a digital marketing business in 2004 and later turned it into Lurn, an online education company based in Rockville, Maryland, according to a July 2019 article published by the Maryland Department of Commerce. That article described Lurn as hosting around 100 video courses on digital marketing, copywriting, e-commerce and related topics, with prices ranging from free to several hundred dollars per course, and a 26,000-square-foot training and production facility called the LurnCenter. Lurn appeared on the Inc. 5000 list of fast-growing private companies, including in 2021 and 2022.

According to a Form C offering statement filed with the SEC (dated December 5, 2025, amended March 6, 2026), Singal has been CEO of Expert Scale, Inc. (formerly Lurn, Inc.) since 2002, was CEO of the compliance software company Complily from January 2024 to April 2025, and has been CEO and director of UgenticAI, Inc., an AI company raising funds through that offering, since early 2025. The same filing credits him with more than $150 million in digital sales and 1.7 million followers; these are his company's own figures and no independent source for them was found.

He publishes on YouTube, where the channel linked from his website (@AnikSingal) showed 556,000 subscribers and about 1,500 videos when checked on September 14, 2026.

His personal website lists Lurn courses including Inbox Blueprint (email marketing), Publish Academy (information products), Copywriting Bootcamp, Digital Bootcamp, FB Bootcamp, Free Traffic Bootcamp, eCom Bootcamp and Fearless Entrepreneur; no prices are shown on that page, and the Lurn enrollment pages could not be loaded on September 14, 2026. His current company, Expert Scale, offers coaching for owners of course, coaching and agency businesses, a free newsletter and a Facebook community; its website publishes no prices and starts with a qualification question about the visitor's business. He is the author of eSCAPE: The 4 Stages of Becoming A Successful Entrepreneur (foreword by Daymond John), offered on his website as a free book with paid shipping, and co-hosts the Don't Say That! podcast on marketing compliance with FTC attorney Greg Christiansen, which also promotes a book of the same name.

In September 2023 the Federal Trade Commission sued Lurn, Singal and two program spokespeople in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland (case 8:23-cv-02622). The complaint alleged that Lurn made unsubstantiated earnings claims and false scarcity claims to sell programs such as Email Startup Incubator (listed in the complaint at $1,995), Kindle Cashflow University and Printable Profits, plus consulting programs costing up to $10,000, and that it kept doing so after receiving FTC Notices of Penalty Offenses in October 2021. The complaint also stated that Lurn took in more than $65 million from consumers from 2019 through May 2022. A stipulated order entered on October 26, 2023 imposed a $14,077,121 judgment, suspended after payment of $2.5 million for consumer refunds, and permanently bars unsubstantiated earnings claims. Lurn and Singal neither admitted nor denied the allegations. In an April 2024 interview on the Beyond a Million podcast, Singal said he disagreed with the case, cited a low chargeback rate among his customers, and said he settled and now markets under the order's terms.

Not confirmed: current prices for any Lurn or Expert Scale program, whether the older Lurn courses are still sold, his year of birth, and his Instagram audience.
