Cassie Kozyrkov is a statistician and data scientist known for promoting "decision intelligence", which she describes as the discipline of turning information into better actions. According to Wikipedia, she was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, is a South African national and started university at Nelson Mandela University at age 15. Fortune (September 6, 2023) reports a B.A. in economics from the University of Chicago, an M.A. in mathematical statistics from North Carolina State University and a partially completed Ph.D. in psychology and neuroscience at Duke University, as well as about ten years as an independent data science consultant before joining Google. Her date of birth does not appear in the sources reviewed.
She joined Google in 2014 as a statistician and later held the title of Chief Decision Scientist; Fortune states she spent ten years at the company, five of them in that role. She left in September 2023, announcing on LinkedIn and in a Medium essay that she was going independent. She now presents herself as CEO of Kozyr, the company behind her website kozyr.com, which lists speaking, advising, courses and a newsletter. According to her own course materials and speaker bios, she trained more than 20,000 Googlers; there is no independent source for that figure.
She publishes on YouTube (@kozyrkov, about 80,000 subscribers and 279 videos as displayed on September 14, 2026), on the Substack newsletter Decision Intelligence, on Medium and on X as @decisionleader. Her free YouTube series "Making Friends with Machine Learning" is one of her best-known pieces of content.
Her paid training is sold mainly on Maven. "Decision-Making with ChatGPT" is a hybrid course with more than 30 on-demand videos in five modules plus a two-hour live Q&A, lifetime access, templates and a certificate; it launched in October 2025 and was later offered on demand. "Developing Your AI Strategy: A Framework for Leadership" was a two-day live cohort course for executives (two four-hour sessions); its Maven page now says the course is no longer available. Neither Maven page shows a public price without logging in, and her November 24, 2025 Substack post only mentions discount codes of $200 and $300 off, not the base price. She also teaches "Decision Intelligence" on LinkedIn Learning (1 hour 25 minutes, released September 5, 2023), included in a LinkedIn Learning subscription. Kozyr's website offers one-on-one advising booked through a scheduling link and keynote speaking on request, without published rates.
On reputation: Maven shows ratings of 4.7/5 (79 reviews) for the ChatGPT course and 4.4/5 (59 reviews) for the AI strategy course, and LinkedIn Learning shows 4.8/5 from 3,988 ratings; these are platform ratings, not independent reviews. Press coverage includes a Fortune profile on her departure from Google (Rachyl Jones, September 6, 2023) and podcast interviews with Microsoft WorkLab (May 2025), IBM AI in Action (July 2025) and DataCamp. Wikipedia lists her as a LinkedIn Top Voice in Data Science & Analytics (2019); its article carries maintenance notices about notability and independent sourcing. A web search for criticism, lawsuits or controversies under her name on September 14, 2026 returned no results about her. OpenCorporates could not be checked for Kozyr's registration because the site required a CAPTCHA.
Not confirmed: the price of either Maven course, Kozyr's legal entity and state of registration, her current city of residence, and the book she said in 2023 she planned to publish.
