Who is Jeff Cavaliere?

Jeff Cavaliere is an American physical therapist and strength and conditioning coach, and the creator of ATHLEAN-X, a brand of online workout programs and supplements. According to his own website, he holds a Bachelor of Science in physioneurobiology/premedicine and a master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Connecticut, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA. UConn Magazine (April 2, 2026) lists his degrees as a bachelor's from 1997 and a master's from 2007. Both his website and UConn Magazine state that he was head physical therapist and assistant strength coach for the New York Mets from 2006 to 2008. His date of birth does not appear on his website or in the UConn article.

The website footer names Sports Performance Factory LLC as the company behind ATHLEAN-X, with a mailing address in Westport, Connecticut. We could not check the state business registry entry or OpenCorporates, which blocked automated access on September 14, 2026.

He publishes on the ATHLEAN-X YouTube channel, which showed 14.3 million subscribers and about 1,700 videos on September 14, 2026. The brand is also on Instagram and Facebook as @athleanx. Most of the videos explain exercise technique, anatomy and injury prevention from a physical therapy point of view.

What he sells: a catalog of more than twenty online training programs, each a fixed-length plan (4 to 16 weeks) accessed through a members' portal, most with a meal plan. On September 14, 2026, the program catalog showed most 12-week programs at between $97 and $98.99, marked down from a listed regular price of $124. Examples include AX-1 Training Camp, Total BEAXST, JACKED, BUILT ($169.96) and AXX for Women ($79.99). The All Axcess membership unlocks the full library of more than 40 programs, meal plans, staff support and community forums, advertised at $16.59 per month on the annual plan. His website also mentions in-gym or on-location training for select clients, with no price published. The same brand sells supplements (X-CITE pre-workout, PRO-30G protein, creatine). His website lists two books, Major League Insider Training Manual and Teen Sports Nutrition Blueprint, and says he has been featured in Men's Health.

Reputation: in 2020 other fitness YouTubers publicly questioned whether he used fake weight plates in some videos and whether he used steroids. Distractify covered this in an article by Nakeisha Campbell, updated July 21, 2020. According to that article, Cavaliere answered the steroid claim by inviting fellow YouTuber Greg Doucette to have him take a drug test of his choosing, with travel paid, and did not respond directly to the weight-plate claim. We found no court case or regulatory action involving ATHLEAN-X or Sports Performance Factory LLC in the sources reviewed. We could not run a full search of the FTC website (the search page returned an error on September 14, 2026), so this remains unconfirmed.

Not confirmed: the year ATHLEAN-X was founded (secondary sources disagree), his age, and whether the program prices shown as discounted are temporary or permanent.
