Timothy Sykes is an American penny stock trader, blogger and trading educator. According to Wikipedia, he was born on April 15, 1981, in Orange, Connecticut, and graduated from Tulane University in 2003. His own press page says he turned $12,415 into $4.2 million trading stocks and became a millionaire by age 21 or 22 (the page gives both ages); these figures are his own and no independent audit was located for this profile. In 2007 he self-published An American Hedge Fund: How I Made $2 Million as a Stock Operator & Created a Hedge Fund, about his early trading and his short-bias fund, Cilantro Fund Management.
His education business runs through Millionaire Media, LLC, a Miami, Florida company named on his sales pages, and through Profit.ly, a trading platform where his subscriptions are sold. His press page also lists him as co-founder of the Karmagawa Foundation, a charitable organization, and cites appearances on ABC's 20/20, CNBC and the 2007 series Wall Street Warriors.
He publishes on YouTube as @TimothySykesTrader (about 144,000 subscribers, read on September 14, 2026) and on TikTok as @timothysykes (3,022 followers, same date), both linked from timothysykes.com. His site also links to Instagram, X and Facebook accounts; their follower counts were not verified.
What he sells: on Profit.ly, Tim's Alerts is listed at $74.95 per month and Pennystocking Silver at $149.95 per month, both with a discounted yearly option, a chat room, watchlists, trade alerts and a library of more than 7,000 video lessons. His top program, the Trading Challenge (also called the Millionaire Challenge), is application-only: the official pages require an application and interview, say that pricing depends on tier and format, and do not publish a price. A one-time $197 VIP package offers more than 30 hours of video training and, according to the sales page, moves buyers to the front of the line for a Trading Challenge interview. His pages state that results are not typical, that most people who buy content make little or no money, and that research shows most day traders lose money.
Legal record: in July 2020 Scanz Technologies, Inc. sued Sykes, Millionaire Media, LLC, Millionaire Publishing, LLC, JewMon Enterprises, LLC, StocksToTrade.com Inc. and others in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida (case 1:20-cv-22957), alleging misappropriation of trade secrets from its EquityFeed scanning software. On January 6, 2021, Judge Robert N. Scola, Jr. dismissed eight of the ten counts and let the two trade secret counts proceed. The parties filed a notice of settlement on July 9, 2021, and the court entered an order of dismissal on August 20, 2021; no finding of liability was made and the settlement terms are not in the public docket. A web search restricted to sec.gov, ftc.gov, finra.org, justice.gov and cftc.gov on September 14, 2026 returned no enforcement action under his name; the SEC and FINRA adviser records returned for "Timothy Sykes" belong to other people with the same name.
