Tiffany Aliche

Tiffany Aliche is an American personal finance educator who works under the brand The Budgetnista. In written testimony for a U.S. Senate spotlight forum on May 14, 2025, she described herself as the daughter of Nigerian immigrants and a former teacher, said she earned an undergraduate business degree in 2001, took on $50,000 in graduate school debt, and lost her job during the 2008 financial crisis, which she presents as the origin of her business. Her own site says she taught preschool for ten years in Newark, New Jersey. Her birth year is not listed in any source reviewed.

She is the author of Get Good with Money: Ten Simple Steps to Becoming Financially Whole, published by Rodale Books on March 30, 2021 (list price $30 hardcover; a paperback at $18 is dated March 31, 2026, according to Penguin Random House). Her site also lists the workbook Made Whole: The Practical Guide to Reaching Your Financial Goals, The One Week Budget, the Live Richer Challenge series and a children's book, Mali More. According to her publisher, she co-hosts the Brown Ambition podcast. PBS stations carry a special titled Get Good with Money with Tiffany Aliche.

In January 2019 New Jersey enacted bill A1414, which requires financial literacy instruction in middle schools. Blavity reported on January 10, 2019 that Assemblywoman Angela V. McKnight approached Aliche in 2015 to help draft the bill's language; her site calls it "The Budgetnista Law."

She publishes on YouTube (channel The Budgetnista, about 120,000 subscribers), Instagram (@thebudgetnista), Facebook and X, according to the links on her site. Subscriber figure read on September 14, 2026. The footer of thebudgetnista.com names CLD Financial Life as the operator.

Her site says her programs have helped over two million women save more than $350 million and pay off over $200 million in debt, and that she was the first solo Black woman on the cover of Money magazine (February 2021). These figures come from her own material and no independent verification was found. No FTC action under her name or brand was found in a search of ftc.gov on September 14, 2026. Her New Jersey company registrations could not be checked because the OpenCorporates search returned a verification wall.
