Dan Koe is a writer, YouTuber and online educator whose material covers the one-person business model, writing as a business skill, content creation, focus and personal development. His own website describes him as the author of The Art of Focus and co-founder of Eden, and says he previously worked as a brand advisor for creators and influencers.
In his autobiographical letter "My Story: The Untold Truth Of Dan Koe", he writes that he attended Arizona State University, where he took courses in graphic design, marketing and film, and that he started a fitness YouTube channel as a freshman. He describes later attempts at a Facebook ads agency, a dropshipping store, freelance web design and small e-commerce brands before earning six figures from freelancing. In the same letter he reports $800,000 in revenue in 2022 and $3.3 million in a later year; these are his own figures and no independent source confirming them was found. His birth date or age does not appear on his website or in that letter.
His book The Art of Focus: Find Meaning, Reinvent Yourself and Create Your Ideal Future is self-published under Koe Enterprises, according to the book's official website. He also publishes a second book, Purpose & Profit, as a paperback on Amazon, a PDF and on Substack. Koe Enterprises LLC appears as the applicant of a U.S. trademark application for the mark DAN KOE. In 2024 he and a co-founder launched Kortex, a writing and note-taking app; on November 24, 2025 the Kortex blog announced that the product was becoming Eden, an AI workspace for creators.
He publishes on YouTube as @DanKoeTalks, which showed 1.42 million subscribers when read on September 14, 2026, and on X, Instagram and LinkedIn as @thedankoe. His Substack newsletter, future/proof, states that it has more than 340,000 subscribers. He also hosts the podcast The Koe Cast.
His paid offers, as listed on his own pages on September 14, 2026: The 2 Hour Writer, a self-paced writing and content course sold on Gumroad for $150 with lifetime access, which its sales page says has more than 6,000 students (the same page also cites 3,000+); Modern Mastery HQ, a membership community hosted on Circle, listed on Gumroad at $27 a month or $297 a year, while the modernmastery.co page mentions a $150 initial fee followed by $27 a month; and the paid tier of future/proof at $9 a month or $99 a year, which includes his AI, writing and marketing strategies two to four times a month, a skill library and a course called the one-person business launchpad. The Art of Focus Keepsake Box Edition was sold on its official site for $225, or $495 with an event invitation. He also offers a free email challenge, 7 Days To Genius Ideas.
On reputation: no FTC action under the names Dan Koe or Koe Enterprises was found in a web search on September 14, 2026. No profile of him was found in Fortune, Business Insider, The New York Times, Forbes or The Atlantic in a web search on the same date. Starter Story published a breakdown of his business on May 12, 2024, whose revenue figures it describes as estimates from public sources. Member and student counts come from his own sales pages.
Not confirmed: his age, his country of residence and nationality, whether Modern Mastery HQ still accepts new members at the prices shown, the current list price of the standard editions of his books, and who exactly holds the Arizona company registration linked to his trademark.
